Some of the elements in the love story have changed over time. In theancient world and during the Middle Ages, love stories did not have happyendings, and they focused on love outside of social and economic status. Thiswas an innovation at that time, because most marriages were arranged and thepartners were of the same social class. Beginning in the late Middle Ages andthe Renaissance, love stories began to have happy endings, because marriage wascoming to be rooted in feelings of truelove and couples came together bypersonal choice.

Modern love stories are influenced by Hollywood, and often featurepre-marital and extra-marital sexual relationships, and single parents withchildren. Over the years, a conventional format was followed. As entertainmentand moral values changed, however, the distinction between convention andinnovation became blurred.

It is turned out that those who you thought you could not lose, actually,it is not very hard to forget them. You drained up your tears, there will beanother one pleasing had plunged yourself into a depression, finally, you found those who do not love you are not worthy of your llingthose unhappy things, is it a comedy?

Many people almost cry their eyes out when watching some soap playsthrobbedwith love themes。Love is the key element that leads a couple before the sacredaltarof the church。

However, in the past, many people got married without their ownconsent inChina. Their marriage was arranged. Tow persons, a man and a woman, who wereentirely strangers, were united in wedlock and became husband andwife. They hadknown nothing of each other before, and of course, love was asealed book to bothof them. This type of marriage often led to unhappiness. Tragicstories ofill-matched were common enough.

Nowadays, it is held by many people that one should not marrywithout love.A man and a woman may freely make friends with each other. Theydo not talk ofmarriage until their friendship has ripened into love. In their marriage, theymay take other things into consideration, but they regard love as themostimportant thing. This type of marriage usually brings happiness.

Moreover, love may be a temporary passion, and those who are in loveareoften blind to other things, so that what we call love matches do notalwaysresult in happiness. Therefore, while love is required before a marriageisarranged, it is not the only thing required.

Love in high school is a very sensitive topic, the students in high schoolhave come to the age of being mature, inside, they desire to love someone, butit is the awkward time. First, they need to focus their attention so that theycan enter a better college, second, their parents are strongly objective totheir love, the teachers even ban the love relationship between students. As astudent, they have their own rights to love someone, the inner desire and theobjection from parents and schools make them struggle to their emotions. In myopinion, high school students have so many pressure, they should put aside theirlove emotions for a while, they need to focus on the study, when high schooltime ends, they can choose their love. It is much easier, if you want to love atthe time, then to love. No one will stop you.

But tragedy struck. A few days after he left, the girl had a majorvehicular

accident. It was a head-on collision. When she woke up in the hospital, shesaw her

father and mother crying. Immediately, she knew that he must had been badlyinjured.

She later found out that she suffered brain injury. The part of her brainthat

Confused, she asked, “What is this?”

That was when the young man entered her room with a bouquet of flowers. Heknelt

We'd like to share some of the positive meanings love has for us.

Love means that I know the person I love. I'm aware of the many sides ofthe other person — not just the beautiful side but also the limitations, inconsistencies and faults. I have an awareness of the other's feelings andthoughts, and I experience something of the core of that person. I can penetratesocial masks and roles and see the other person on a deeper level.

Love means that I care about the welfare of the person I love. To theextent that it is genuine, my caring is not possessive, nor does it hold theother person back. On the contrary, my caring frees both of us. If I care aboutyou, I'm concerned about your growth, and I hope you will become all that youcan become. Consequently, I don't put up obstacles to what you do that enhancesyou as a person, even though it may result in my discomfort at times.

Love means having respect for the dignity of the person I love. If I loveyou, I can see you as a separate person, with your own values and thoughts andfeelings, and I do not insist that you surrender your identity to match an imageof what I expect you to be for me. I can allow and encourage you to stand aloneand to be who you are, and I avoid treating you as an object or using youprimarily to satisfy my own needs.

Love means having a responsibility toward the person I love. If I love you,I respond to most of your major needs as a person. This responsibility does notinclude my doing for you what you are capable of doing for yourself; nor does itmean that I run your life for you. It does mean acknowledging that what I am andwhat I do affects you, so that I am directly involved in your happiness and yoursuffering. A lover does have the capacity to hurt or ignore the loved one, andin this sense we see that love involves an acceptance of some responsibility forthe impact my way of being has on you.

Love means making a commitment to the person I love. This commitment doesnot mean surrendering our total selves to each other; nor does it imply that therelationship is necessarily permanent. It does involve a willingness to staywith each other in times of pain, struggle, and despair, as well as in times ofcalm and enjoyment.

Love means trusting the person I love. If I love you, I trust that you willaccept my caring and my love and that you won't deliberately hurt me. I trustthat you will find me attractive, and that you won't abandon me; I trust themutual nature of our love. If we trust each other, we are willing to be open toeach other and reveal our true selves.

Love can tolerate imperfection. In a love relationship there are times whenI am bored, times when I may feel like giving up, times of real strain, andtimes I feel I can't move forward. Authentic love does not imply enduringhappiness. I can stay during rough times, however, because I can remember whatwe had together in the past, and I can picture what we will have together in ourfuture if we care enough to face our problems and work them through. We agreewith the idea that love is a spirit that changes life. Love is a way of lifethat is creative and that transforms. However, love is not reserved for aperfect world. Love is meant for our imperfect world where things go wrong. Loveis meant to be a spirit that works in painful situations. Love is meant to bringmeaning into life where nonsense appears to rule. In other words, love comesinto an imperfect world to make it possible to live.

Love is open. If I love you, I encourage you to reach out and develop otherrelationships. Although our love for each other and our commitment to each othermight prohibit certain actions on our parts, we are not totally and exclusivelymarried to each other. It is a false love that cements one person to another insuch a way that he or she is not given room to grow.

Love is selfish. I can only love you if I genuinely love, value, appreciate, and respect myself. If I am empty, then all I can give you is myemptiness. If I feel that I'm complete and worthwhile in myself, then I'm ableto give to you out of my fullness. One of the best ways for me to give you loveis by fully enjoying myself with you.

Love involves seeing the potential within the person we love. In my lovefor another, I view her or him as the person she or he can become, while stillaccepting who and what the person is now. By taking people as they are, we makethem worse, but by treating them as if they already were what they ought to be,we help make them better.

To sum it up, mature love is union under the condition of preserving one'sindividuality. In love, two beings become one and yet remain two.

There are some who approve of students falling in love. If the students aretruly in love, there is no better time to fall in love and even to ing in love will do nothing but benefit them. There are the true romantics, who say that for true love, there is no wrong time.

On the other side are those who point out that the first few years offalling in love are full of adjustments. For students who fall in love whilestill in college, love would affect their academic study more or less. Fallinginlove would just be a distraction for a time when students need to focus ontheir studies. Students are also very immature at this time ,most of them havingjust left their parents’ homes.

In my opinion, we college students are indeed too immature for falling of us are overwhelmed by the studies and pressures of academic life;how in the world could we bear the duties and pressures of falling in love atthe same time? I believe we should take one step at a time: education first ,love second.
